My family and I rarely travel to other countries together...as a whole family. We are too busy spreading ourselves thin across the world. Last year, my family touched over 12 countries in 12 months. And yet, that's our normal. Dinner conversations rarely consist of the usual "how was your day?" but rather, "how was your time in this country and that country?" I don't know how we turned out this way, but I'm forever grateful that we did. I love traveling. Its a part of who I am. I love exploring new places, meeting new people and learning their stories. I love taking the chance of getting lost or walking down a street hungry and finding the most interesting restaurant whether a candlelit table or one where you spend half your time swatting away flies. Its all apart of the adventure. This past May, all six of us hopped on a plane and headed to Puerto Rico for a week. We had an amazing time together. We spent the first couple of days relaxing by the beach. We also had this amazing opportunity to go on a night kayaking trip through bioluminescent waters. This was one of those adventures that I wish I could have taken my camera with me. We kayaked through a canal overgrown with trees and hanging branches. It was beautiful. After 30 minutes of traveling upstream the canal opened up to a huge bay. If you dipped your hand in the water, it glowed. It was epic. We also ventured into the rain forest and hiked to some beautiful waterfalls.
This trip was amazing and I'm so blessed to have such an adventurous family to make these memories with!
