Too cute for words. Got to capture a few photos of my parents the other day! Their story and more photos to come...stay tuned!
Cartwright family.
The Cartwright family is quite the adorable bunch. Prior to this shoot I heard from countless people that the new addition to the Cartwright family was a sweet bundle of cuteness...and she is!!! We tried out a new location for this shoot and it was incredible! Among the fields and trees in this park was historical brick architecture screaming to be in the photos. The park is also on water which is breathtaking as the sun begins to set. The Cartwright's daughter held the most amazing eye contact during our entire session which helped produce these charming photos to match the charming family! Enjoy...
Sisters.
These three sisters came to me asking to do a shoot for them and their families as a surprise for their parent's anniversary! We decided to do the shoot at Burke Lake which allowed for some fun shots and amazing settings. Although this shoot was adorable, my favorite shot of the day is the last one in this post with all of them jumping ...who doesn't love jumping shots with families?
Last but not least...the fun shot! :)
the warden family
The Wardens and my family have been friends for almost 20 years now. They are quite a fun bunch! When I was communicating back and fourth with them about our photo shoot I asked them about some of their memories and traditions. Mostly they love spending time together laughing and occasionally you can find them in their family room playing an intense game of Yahtzee! Recently they've added a new addition to their family...the VW Bug! When we discussed including the Bug in the shoot, I knew right then that this was going to be a really fun day. We decided to do the shoot in Clifton, VA because the Wardens love taking country drives out there in the convertible and grabbing some ice cream or a sandwich from the deli off of Main St. The weather was perfect and just as predicted...the day was tons of fun! I hope when you view this particular post that you are sitting next to someone because this one happens to be full of a cherry red VW Bug...and you know what happens when you see a VW Bug right? Someone gets punched!
sweet pea
This was my first infant shoot. Quite the task and quite the nerves I had preparing for the shoot and stepping in the door. First of all, this baby was just over a week old...and, obviously, very fragile. Secondly, since I had never had a photo shoot with an infant I was unsure of how lighting would work, whether my flash would wake her up, how long she would sleep....IF she would sleep, if she'd get cold, hot, tired, fussy....I had no idea. Thankfully I know this child's mom and she put me at ease joking that this too was the baby's first shoot so I have nothing to worry about! (Thanks for that Elyssa!) We found a window in their house that let in beautiful soft light and we shot most of the photos there. I loved this shoot not only because I got to take pictures of this cute little thing but I also got to hold her for almost an hour afterward while I got caught up with her mom about life and what I'd missed out on since I had been away in Kenya. Shoots like this always turn into a blessing for me!
